Additionally, since October 2023, the five-door Maruti Jimny has been exported to a number of foreign markets and was just introduced in Australia. You would think that since the India-spec off-road vehicle and the Australia-spec Jimny are identical 5-door models, they would be identical. In other words, both yes and no. The following are the two’s five main distinctions

Name

The carmaker sells the India-spec model as the Suzuki Jimny XL in Australia, but it is known as the Maruti Suzuki Jimny in that country. This is due to the fact that the 3-door model with the standard “Jimny” name is already available in Australia. In the Australian market, Suzuki also sells the “Jimny Lite,” a more affordable model that is essentially a condensed version of the three-door SUV.

ADAS

The Australia-spec Jimny (XL) and the India-spec Jimny (XL) differ primarily in that the latter is equipped with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). It lacks high-beam assistance even though its ADAS suite includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and autonomous emergency braking (AEB). The front-windshield mounted camera, another feature omitted from the India-spec model even though it is exported from here to Australia, is the foundation for the Jimny XL’s ADAS technology.

Colour Options

The India-spec offroader produces 4 Nm and 3 PS more than the Australia-spec Jimny. Nevertheless, both come with a suitable 4-wheel drivetrain (4WD) designed for off-road use and two transmission choices.

No Base Variant For Jimny XL

In contrast to the India-spec model, which comes in two variants: the entry-level Zeta and the top-spec Alpha, the Australia-spec Jimny XL is only offered in one trim. Customers in Australia can therefore take advantage of all the features of the offroader, such as the 9-inch touchscreen and ADAS technology.

Prices

In India, Maruti retails the 5-door Jimny for Rs 12.74 lakh. For a restricted time, the company is also offering a new Thunder Edition, which has a starting price reduction of up to Rs 2 lakh. Force Gurkha and the Mahindra Thar are its only direct competitors.
