  • The 1-liter turbocharged engine of the Kia Sonet comes with a 6-speed iMT (manual transmission without clutch pedal), while the 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine can only be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
  • The Hyundai Venue shares the same engine options as the Sonet; however, Hyundai offers a real 6-speed manual transmission instead of an iMT for its 1-liter turbo-petrol engine.
  • Regarding the Nexon, the base-spec Smart version has a 5-speed manual transmission, while the subsequent higher-spec versions have a 6-speed manual transmission.
  • With a 1.2-liter TGDi (turbo-petrol) engine that can produce up to 130 PS and 250 Nm, the Mahindra XUV300 is the most potent subcompact SUV out of all the cars on the list.
  • The most costly petrol-manual option is the Tata Nexon, costing Rs 11,000 more than the Kia Sonet’s top specification. By a significant margin of up to Rs 85,000, the Hyundai Venue boasts the most economical top-end petrol-manual choice.

  • The identical 1-liter turbo-petrol engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission is available for both the Hyundai Venue and the 2024 Sonet. In contrast to the Venue, the Sonet boasts a pricing for its fuel automatic variants that may go up to Rs 1.36 lakh.
  • There are two gearbox options for the 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine (120 PS / 170 Nm) of the Tata Nexon: a 6-speed AMT or a 7-speed dual clutch.
  • The TGDi turbo petrol option is not available for the Mahindra XUV300 petrol automatic model. Additionally, the only transmission option for its standard 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine (110 PS / 200 Nm) is a 6-speed AMT.

  • Mahindra XUV300 is the most cheap diesel automatic subcompact SUV in the market.
  • There is a 6-speed AMT transmission available for both the Nexon and XUV300 diesel automatics.
  • The Sonet is the only vehicle in this class to come equipped with a 6-speed torque converter for its diesel engine, making it a better automatic gearbox than the one found in the Mahindra XUV300 and Tata Nexon.
  • Diesel-automatic is not a viable option for the Hyundai Venue.

The most costly subcompact SUV in our comparison is currently the Kia Sonet facelift in its top-spec X Line version. It is the only subcompact SUV on the list with level 1 advanced driver assistance technologies, trailing only the Hyundai Venue.

On the other side, the Tata Nexon is also a feature-loaded product; nevertheless, it lacks a superior diesel automatic transmission and ADAS. The most potent T-GDi turbocharged petrol engine is available for the Mahindra XUV300, despite its lack of as many features as the other three. Which of these would you choose, and why, in light of these factors? Please feel free to leave a remark with your thoughts.

Maruti Celerio Car Blog

Under Rs 1-5 lakh Maruti Celerio Car in 2023

The Maruti Celerio Car is a five-seater hatchback that costs between Rs. 5.37 and Rs. 7.15 lakh. It has a 998 cc engine that comes with 8 different variations and 2 transmission options: manual and automatic. The Celerio has two airbags. The Maruti Celerio Car comes in seven colors and has a 170 mm ground clearance. Celerio mileage has been recorded by users to range from 25.17 to 34.43 km/l.

Celerio Engine Specifications

As far as fitness for purpose is concerned, the new Celerio of the second generation hits the mark. Designed with first-time automobile purchasers in mind, some may choose to use it as their family’s second vehicle. Because of its practicality and comfort of driving, it provides its target audience with what they want.

It is stated that the nation’s most fuel-efficient engine is the new 1.0-liter K10C engine. Its strong low- and mid-range grunt should be able to propel you from 0 to 100 kmph in about 10 seconds.

It handles quite nicely, feeling agile, light, and fun enough around turns while remaining steady at high speeds. It might be less cluttered and more flexible, though.

Celerio Technology & Convenience

Five USPs of the Celerio:

  • It’s the ideal city car thanks to its compact size, simple handling, AMT option, excellent visibility, and light controls, which also make it a pleasant vehicle to live in. It can fit through those minuscule spaces in the traffic because of its diminutive size. It’s also simple to enter and exit.
  • Considering its increased size, the cabin has adequate space. There’s plenty of room up front, so you won’t be bumping into your passengers. Three can easily squeeze in even in the rear. The 313-liter boot is the maximum capacity found in a larger Brezza.
  • The engine is really different from what you would anticipate from a three-cylinder unit, while being a little vibrating and noisy. When carrying five people, it can reach speeds of 80–90 kmph. First-time automobile owners will find the Celerio to be a suitable choice because of its AMT ease.
  • The Celerio won’t break the bank, with an overall real-world fuel economy of little less than 20 mpg (19.61 mpg, to be exact) according to CarWale-tested statistics.

Two Negatives of the Celerio:

  • The cost of the new Celerio has increased significantly in comparison to the previous model. In actuality, the price has increased by more than Rs. 1.40 lakh between versions. Projector headlamps, LED DRLs, follow-me-home lamps, a dual-tone paint job, a cooled glove box, voice command, four more speakers, and a rear-view camera are just a few of the amenities that set the Tata apart from the Tiago.
  • Despite its improvements, the new AMT remains a reasonably priced technology with a small compromise. Sometimes the gearbox holds onto gears needlessly, especially at low speeds, which causes the throttle to be unpredictable. The sudden downshifts made by the AMT gearbox are also felt.

Miles of the Maruti Celerio

For petrol versions, Maruti Celerio mileage is reported by ARAI to be between 25.17 and 26.23 km/l. In contrast, the same is 34.43 km/kg for CNG variations.
