Hybrid New Powertrain

The BMW M5 retains the 4.4-liter V8 turbo-petrol engine from the outgoing model, but it has been upgraded to a more powerful version with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain that produces 727 PS and 1,000 Nm (combined). An automatic gearbox with eight speeds is mated to it. An 18.6 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that facilitates 7.4 kW AC charging powers the plug-in hybrid motor. Sharper Exteriors

The outside of the 2024 BMW M5 has been updated with new design components that give it a sportier appearance while maintaining a 5-series sedan’s profile. It receives new LED headlights that nearly mirror those found on the recently released 5 Series. In keeping with its athletic appearance, the kidney grille has been given lighting and is equipped with a camera and radar sensor for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). To make it look sportier, the front bumper has been modified with more creases and slashes.

The battery charging port is now located on the front fender, where BMW had previously placed the M badge. Along with new 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels, it also receives bigger wheel arches. Brakes made of carbon ceramic are available as an add-on.

Its redesigned diffuser and four larger-looking exhaust points are located on the back. It is equipped with LED taillights, just like the latest 5-series sedan.

Elegant yet athletic interior

Tan upholstery is standard, and Merino leather covers the interior. The curved integrated infotainment and all-digital instrument cluster display is its standout feature. It also has an M logo on a rotary drive controller, a red start/stop button, and an M Mode button in the center console.

Standard equipment also includes a head-up display. Additionally, it has lighting components on the dashboard along with a welcome animation exclusive to BMW M vehicles. In addition, a new flat-bottom steering wheel with heated features, paddle shifters, and LED buttons is included.

Along with electrically adjustable sports seats with heating and ventilation and an illuminated M emblem on the backrest, the five-seater M5 also has other goodies.

An Updated ADAS suite

The advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS) suite for the 2024 BMW M5 is based on radar technology and currently incorporates functions including driver attentiveness assistant, lane departure warning with steering aid, and front collision warning. In addition, there are eight airbags, collision sensors, and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) in the safety net.
