Mahindra Thar: Pricing ranges for it include Rs 11.25 lakh to Rs 17.20 lakh. The cost of the SUV’s Earth Edition ranges from Rs 15.40 lakh to Rs 17.60 lakh. Ex-showroom rates apply to all of India.
Engine and Transmission: Mahindra provides the Thar with three engine options:
- a 2-liter, 152 horsepower/300 Nm turbo-petrol engine
- Two-and-a-half-liter (132 PS/300 Nm) diesel engine
There are two gearbox options for the aforementioned engines: a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. A 1.5-liter diesel engine (118 PS/300 Nm) with a 6-speed manual transmission is another feature of the RWD variant, whilst the turbo-petrol unit has a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Features: The Thar has a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, manual air conditioning, halogen headlights with LED DRLs, washable interior flooring, and detachable roof panels.
Safety: Dual front airbags, traction control, hill descent control, rear parking sensors, and seat belt reminders for the driver and front passengers are among the safety features.
Rivals: The Mahindra Thar is up against the Force Gurkha and Maruti Suzuki Jimny, as well as other comparably priced monocoque small SUVs such the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and Toyota Hyryder.
