Tata Curvv at Bharat Mobility Expo 2024, in a closer-to-production avatar
Tata’s new 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine will be available with a 1.5-liter diesel engine with 115 PS for the Curvv.
- At Auto Expo 2023, the first Tata Curvv internal combustion engine (ICE) concept was unveiled.
- The most recent model featured a back profile that was sharpened and resembled the Nexon.
- Confirmed: the inside will include a touch-based temperature control panel and a 4-spoke steering wheel resembling a Harrier with a backlit Tata logo.
- Six airbags, a panoramic sunroof, twin digital screens, and a 360-degree camera are anticipated features.
- By the end of 2024, Curvv ICE is anticipated to launch; costs may begin at Rs 10.50 lakh.
The production-ready SUV, the Tata Curvv, made its premiere at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024 and is expected to be one of the most anticipated new automobile debuts of 2024. This is the next Tata SUV with an internal combustion engine (ICE), which will now reportedly also be available with a diesel engine.
Details of Curvv Diesel
The Curvv will receive Tata’s most recent 1.2-liter turbo-petrol TGDi engine (125 PS/225 Nm) during the Auto Expo 2023. Presently, the 1.5-liter diesel engine (115 PS/260 Nm) on the Curvv is confirmed to be available thanks to the model displayed at the Bharat Mobility expo. The Curvv ICE is anticipated to be offered with a choice of gasoline and diesel engines.
The Curvv will also be available as an all-electric model called the Curvv EV, which is probably going to come with several battery packs with a stated range of around 500 kilometers.
A Redesigned Layout
With a few little changes, the Tata Curvv ICE that was on display at the Bharat Mobility expo is essentially what we will receive when the SUV hits the showrooms. In contrast to the design we saw at the Auto Expo 2023, it receives a revised front end. The large chrome-studded bumper, LED DRLs, and the triangle headlamp and fog lamp arrangement are just a few of the features that make its fascia resemble the face of the Nexon.
The coupe roofline, which extends to the high-seated back end, is the Curvv’s most prominent design feature, and it is best seen in profile. The 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels of the Curvv ICE on display nevertheless provide plenty of space in the wheel arches, particularly at the back.
Its back hasn’t changed significantly from the previous idea, but the details are now more refined in this version that is suitable for production. The horizontal tail lamp, which runs the entire width of the SUV, is its most prominent stylistic feature. A split roof-integrated spoiler is also included.
Interior Design and Features
Tata gave us a sneak glance inside the cabin of the Curvv ICE, although not disclosing any information about it. It comes with two digital displays (one for infotainment and the other for instrumentation), and a redesigned 4-spoke steering wheel resembling a Harrier with an illuminated “Tata” logo in the center. It will also have a touch-panel climate control system from Tata.
The specification for manufacture In addition, a panoramic sunroof, paddle shifters, wireless phone charging, and ventilated front seats are anticipated for the Curvv. Six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and ISOFIX child seat mounts are probably part of its safety net.
Expected, Price Launch And Competition
The Tata Curvv EV was initially supposed to launch first, and the ICE version is anticipated to go on sale by the end of 2024. The former should start at around Rs 10.50 lakh, while the pricing of its EV variant can be as high as Rs 20 lakh. The Curvv EV will compete against the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric, while the Curvv ICE will go up against the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Honda Elevate.

2024 Bharat Mobility Expo: Tata Nexon CNG Unveiled
The 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine of the SUV, which uses Tata’s dual-cylinder technology, is included with the Nexon CNG.
- The Nexon will be the company’s fifth CNG-branded vehicle.
- With a turbocharged petrol engine, it’s the first car in India to come with an optional CNG kit.
- has two independent CNG cylinders beneath the boot floor, each with a capacity of about 230 liters for luggage.
- The transmission choices and stated fuel economy percentages are unknown.
- First half of 2024 is anticipated for launch; starting costs could be as high as Rs 9 lakh.
The Nexon CNG is one of the big debuts at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024, which Tata has quite the roster for. Although it won’t be the first sub-4m SUV in the nation to have this fuel option, it will be the first to do so with a petrol engine that has been turbocharged. The twin-cylinder technology found in vehicles like the Tata Punch and Tiago is also included in the Tata Nexon CNG Car.
Specifics of the Powertrain
The 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine in the SUV, which is normally rated at 120 PS and 170 Nm, is paired with a decreased performance rating while using the greener fuel in the Nexon CNG. The Nexon CNG has direct start in CNG mode, just like previous Tata CNG vehicles. The updated power output, fuel economy, and transmission choices for the Nexon CNG are still unknown.
What About Boot Space?
Because twin-tank technology has been used, the Nexon CNG has a about 230-liter boot space. Thus, the spare wheel is installed on the SUV’s underbelly.
Fully Furnished CNG Vehicle
As with the standard Nexon, we anticipate the Tata Nexon CNG Car to be a feature-rich package that includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charging, a sunroof, and touch-activated auto air conditioning. TPMS, ESC, TPMS, and a 360-degree camera are among the safety features of the Nexon, which also includes six airbags.
Expected Launch And Price
The Tata Nexon CNG is anticipated to go on sale in the first half of 2024, with a starting price of Rs 9 lakh. Direct competitors include the Maruti Brezza, but it will also offer a more environmentally friendly fuel alternative to vehicles like the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and Maruti Fronx sub-4 million crossover.

2024 Bharat Mobility Expo: Mercedes-Benz EQG Concept Makes Its India Debut
Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the electrified G Wagon will be launched in India.
- It has the same design as the ICE G-Wagon, but with EV-specific features.
- Features dual-integrated displays in an all-white cabin; additional cabin designs will also be available.
- Will include a 4-motor arrangement, one for each wheel.
- Can be launched in India sometime in 2025, with a projected beginning price of Rs 3.5 crore.
Mercedes-Benz unveiled the Mercedes-Benz EQG, essentially an electric G-Wagon concept, during the 2024 Bharat Mobility Exhibition. The EQG concept had its global premiere in 2021 and has now arrived in India for the first time. Mercedes-Benz has also announced that the EQG will be launched in India after it has reached production readiness. Details about the electric G-Wagon are limited, but here is what we do know so far.
Design
The EQG’s main design is similar to that of the ICE-powered G-Class. It retains the same boxy form but incorporates EV-specific design elements throughout. Up front, the spherical headlights are still there but between them, the radiator grille has been removed for a closed-off and lit grille. This grille features an illuminated Mercedes-Benz logo and squarish patterns, just like other electric Mercedes cars.
This EQG Concept features Maybach-style 22-inch alloy wheels, which may be an optional feature on the production-ready version. You can also see the outer door protector, which also functions as an LED light strip. Another item to note is the dual-tone exterior finish, with the bottom half of the automobile painted silver and the top half black.
The rear remains the same, except the standard spare wheel on the tailgate has been replaced by an elegantly designed squarish box, complete with an LED light strip all around. Meanwhile, the bumper and taillights look to be identical to the ICE model.
Mercedes also unveiled a close-to-production version, albeit disguised, during CES 2024 in Las Vegas, USA. There was a more realistic design for the alloy wheels, including the spare wheel mounted on the tailgate.
Cabin
The EQG concept features an all-white cabin, but more colour options are expected in the production version. This interior has a dual-integrated display system for the infotainment touchscreen and the digital driver’s display. The inside combines the solidity of the G-Class with the luxurious design of other Mercedes models.
The dashboard includes a white and silver grab grip for the front passenger, as well as Mercedes’ iconic turbine-shaped air conditioning vents. previous cabin elements, including as the centre console, gear selector, door handles, and powered seat controls, are identical to previous Mercedes models.
Powertrain
The specifications for the Mercedes-Benz EQG have not yet been released because it is currently in development. For the time being, the only information available is that it will be equipped with four motors, one for each wheel, and a two-speed transmission for off-road capability. This 4-motor system enables a great party trick known as the “G-Turn,” in which it spins in place by rotating each wheel in separate directions. According to Mercedes-Benz, the electric G-Class will have the same off-road capabilities as the ICE G-Wagon, with some improvements.
Launch Timeline:
The production-ready Mercedes-Benz EQG will be launched globally this year and could arrive on our shores in 2025. Given the costs of the normal G-Class in India, which range from Rs 2.55 crore to Rs 4 crore, the electric version might be priced starting at Rs 3.5 crore when it launches.

5-door Mahindra Thar Spotted Again, New Details Revealed
The larger Thar will not only provide greater space, but also more equipment covering safety, entertainment, and convenience.
- It is scheduled to be available later this year.
- Will be available with a 2-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine, both with manual and automatic transmission.
- There will be a choice between rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive.
- So far, feature changes have included a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver display, and a single-pane sunroof.
- Prices are expected to start around Rs 15 lakh.
The 5-door Mahindra Thar is one of the most anticipated automobiles to be released this year, and testing has been ongoing for quite some time. Every now and then, new spy images of the elongated Thar appear online (still camouflaged), and the most recent ones provide new information on its design, interiors, and features. Here is what we know about the larger Mahindra Thar so far.
Exterior
The 5-door Thar has a similar look to the smaller version, with only slight changes to the grille and an updated signature for the round headlights. We can also see the existence of front parking sensors.
Aside from the two additional doors, the side profile features 19-inch alloy wheels with a distinct design from the 3-door variant. The back aspect appears to be intact, with the spare wheel positioned on the tailgate.
Interior
The first thing you notice inside the cabin is the dashboard’s new dual-tone black and brown decor. This dashboard also includes a larger touchscreen entertainment system (perhaps a 10.25-inch display), similar to the one found in the new XUV400 electric SUV. This screen will most likely support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as Mahindra’s ArdenoX connected car technologies.
The front seats are the same as in the three-door variant, but the driver and front passenger each get their own arm rests.
The rear seats have been redesigned for the 5-door Thar and now seat three people, including a headrest for the middle person. They also get a fold-out center armrest, which most likely includes cupholders.
Features
Aside from the larger touchscreen, the 5-door Thar gets a digital driver’s display (perhaps a 10.25-inch), a single pane sunroof, a type-C charging outlet in the front, automated climate control, rear AC vents, an electric fuel cap release, and an auto-dimming IRVM.
In terms of safety, the 5-door Thar is slated to include six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), front and rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchors, a rearview camera, and a 360-degree camera in higher-end models.
Powertrain
Mahindra will offer the larger Thar with two conventional engine options: a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. While these are the same engines as the three-door variant, with 152 PS (petrol) and 132 PS (diesel), they will have higher output figures. The 5-door Thar will most likely come in both RWD and 4WD configurations.
Price & Rivals
The Mahindra Thar 5-door is scheduled to be launched later this year, with a starting price of Rs 15 lakh. With its size and performance, it will be a step up from the sub-4m Maruti Jimny and a more capable competitor to the impending 5-door Force Gurkha.

These Three Automobiles Are Said To Be Released In February 2024
All three of these vehicles will be firsts for the Indian automobile industry, particularly the introduction of an automatic transmission for cars that run on CNG.
A new electric car was introduced in January 2024, along with other model year updates and facelifts. By the time February rolls around, the market is expecting three new models. These include CNG-automatic versions of the Tiago and Tigor, and Hyndai is anticipated to introduce a more aggressively styled version of its recently released Creta makeover. Each of these autos will be examined individually.
Tata Tiago NRG CNG AMT and Tiago NRG
The Tata Tiago will soon have the option of an automatic transmission, making it the first CNG hatchback available in India. The most recent modification for the Tiago CNG was made in 2023 using Tata’s dual cylinder technology, which provides a functional boot area.
The 1.2-liter, three-cylinder petrol engine of the Tata Tiago with a 5-speed manual transmission produces 73.5 PS and 95 Nm in CNG versions. The Tiago CNG will have the same 5-speed AMT option as the gasoline version. The 5-speed AMT transmission will also be available for the Tata Tiago NRG CNG, a tough-looking Tiago version.
The Tata Tiago CNG comes pre-configured with features such an automated air conditioning system, semi-digital driver’s display, and a 7-inch touchscreen with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A tire pressure monitoring system, a rear parking camera with sensors, and two front airbags are among the safety features.
Tata Tigor CNG AMT
The Tata Tigor CNG will become the first CNG automatic subcompact sedan in India when it is equipped with a 5-speed AMT transmission, in addition to the sedan version of the Tiago CNG.
The 1.2-liter, three-cylinder petrol engine that powers the Tigor CNG and the Tiago together produces 73.5 PS and 95 Nm (when running on CNG). Since its inception, it has also been available with a 5-speed manual transmission. The Tigor CNG shares twin cylinder technology with the Tiago CNG in order to provide a functional boot area.
The Tigor CNG is equipped with an eight-speaker sound system, a semi-digital driver’s display, automatic air conditioning, and a 7-inch touchscreen system with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It has two front airbags, ABS with EBD, a tire pressure monitoring system, and a rear parking camera for further safety.
Hyundai Creta N Line
The Hyundai Creta just had a thorough redesign that included an updated exterior and interior as well as more features than before. Hyundai is now prepared to unveil the more aggressive N Line Creta variant, which will be the first for the India-spec SUV. Following the i20 N Line and the Venue N Line, it will be Hyundai’s third N Line model.
The freshly leaked spy photos of the Creta N Line indicate that it will have a different fascia from the standard model. The same 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine (160 PS / 253 Nm) will power it, but in addition to the 7-speed dual clutch gearbox (DCT), a standard 6-speed manual transmission may also be available.
The Creta N Line will come with features like wireless phone charging, dual-zone air conditioning, heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and two 10.25-inch screens—one for entertainment and the other for the driver’s display. Six airbags, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are all part of its safety equipment.
These three new models are anticipated to be on sale in February 2024. Furthermore, the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 is scheduled to occur from February 1st to February 3rd. Keep checking back for the most recent information as prominent manufacturers like Hyundai, Kia, Toyota, and even luxury brands like Mercedes-Benz will demonstrate their current and future models at the event.
