Tata Nexon, Tata Safari and Tata Harrier News & Top Stories

The recently introduced trio of facelifted SUVs – Tata Nexon, Tata Safari and Tata Harrier

The recently introduced trio of facelifted SUVs – Tata Nexon, Tata Safari and Tata Harrier

When it comes to features and design in the mass-market SUV segments, Tata is without a doubt the top Indian car brand right now. With the introduction of the facelifted Tata Harrier and Tata Safari, it soon created a new visual identity for the brand. It also unveiled the facelifted Tata Nexon. These Tata SUVs stand out from competitors in their respective segments thanks to their updated looks. However, many new features and improved looks come at a cost. Ajay Jain, the head of Tata’s India Design Studio, claims that Indian motorists are prepared to pay the additional cost.

Tata Nexon, Tata Safari and Tata Harrier
One of the distinctive features is the discriminating taste of Indian consumers, who value technology, design expression, and quality over price when buying a car, even though their costs are generally lower than those of other markets.

Indian consumers give considerable weight to the perception and uniqueness of their choices when choosing a vehicle, in contrast to consumers in developed markets who frequently concentrate on particular criteria like price and size. Every car they choose has an impact on how people perceive them. This results in a desire for cars with distinct personalities, avoiding any hints of concession or opting for the smallest or least expensive model available,” he continued.

According to Jain’s observation, buyers frequently choose the priciest models even in low-cost or budget-conscious car categories. Even though the feature increases associated with selecting a higher variant are often limited in more affordable car segments, the addition of roof rails, body-colored exterior components (which are left unpainted in lower variants), and wheel covers dramatically alters a car’s appearance.

With their linked LED front and rear lighting elements, two-spoke steering wheel with the backlit logo, and new displays for the digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system, the recently unveiled trio of Tata SUVs may have the most modern design language in their respective segments.

In addition, Tata has given each of the facelifted models a bold new color. The 2023 Nexon will have the color Fearless Purple, the 2023 Harrier will have the bold new color Sunlit Yellow, and the 2023 Safari will have the luxurious color Cosmic Gold.

Ajay stated later in the interview that Tata plans to integrate the main components of its most recent design language throughout the lineup. This suggests that when they receive their anticipated updates, the Tata Tiago and Tata Tigor will also have comparable styling cues. “Our aspiration is to achieve a similar balance across all our products and body styles,” stated the head of Tata’s India Studio Design.

India-spec And Australia-spec 5-door Maruti Suzuki Jimny News & Top Stories

India-spec And Australia-spec 5-door Maruti Suzuki Jimny

Early in 2023, India finally received the Jimny after many years of waiting—albeit in the 5-door version. Additionally, since October 2023, the five-door Maruti Jimny has been exported to a number of foreign markets and was just introduced in Australia. You would think that since the India-spec off-road vehicle and the Australia-spec Jimny are identical 5-door models, they would be identical. In other words, both yes and no. The following are the two’s five main distinctions

Name

The carmaker sells the India-spec model as the Suzuki Jimny XL in Australia, but it is known as the Maruti Suzuki Jimny in that country. This is due to the fact that the 3-door model with the standard “Jimny” name is already available in Australia. In the Australian market, Suzuki also sells the “Jimny Lite,” a more affordable model that is essentially a condensed version of the three-door SUV.

ADAS

The Australia-spec Jimny (XL) and the India-spec Jimny (XL) differ primarily in that the latter is equipped with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). It lacks high-beam assistance even though its ADAS suite includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and autonomous emergency braking (AEB). The front-windshield mounted camera, another feature omitted from the India-spec model even though it is exported from here to Australia, is the foundation for the Jimny XL’s ADAS technology.

Colour Options

Difference In Powertrain Output

Torque134 Nm130 Nm
Transmission5-speed MT, 4-speed AT
Drivetrain4×4

Even though the automaker gave the same 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine to both models, there is a slight difference in output between the two that you probably won’t notice while driving. Take a peek at this

The India-spec offroader produces 4 Nm and 3 PS more than the Australia-spec Jimny. Nevertheless, both come with a suitable 4-wheel drivetrain (4WD) designed for off-road use and two transmission choices.

No Base Variant For Jimny XL

In contrast to the India-spec model, which comes in two variants: the entry-level Zeta and the top-spec Alpha, the Australia-spec Jimny XL is only offered in one trim. Customers in Australia can therefore take advantage of all the features of the offroader, such as the 9-inch touchscreen and ADAS technology.

Prices

In India, Maruti retails the 5-door Jimny for Rs 12.74 lakh. For a restricted time, the company is also offering a new Thunder Edition, which has a starting price reduction of up to Rs 2 lakh. Force Gurkha and the Mahindra Thar are its only direct competitors.
