The Hyundai Exeter Knight edition was recently launched to commemorate the first year of the micro SUV in our market. This special Exter is available in high-spec SX and SX (O) Connect variants, with prices starting from Rs 8.38 lakh (ex-showroom). We recently got our hands on some images of the Exter Knight Edition in its new Shadow Gray shade. In this article, we will explain with the help of pictures how all the updates are integrated in this version:
Outside
Hyundai Exter Knight Edition Starting up front, the SUV has no design differences, consisting of black skid plates (with a silver finish on the standard Exter) and a red accent stripe with the Hyundai logo and ‘Exter’ buzzing getting the black treatment. The alloy wheels retain the same design as the standard Hyundai Exter but are now finished in black, while red brake calipers appear.
At the rear, the Exeter Night Edition gets blacked-out skid plates, red trim on the tailgate, and ‘Knight’ emblem, just like the Hyundai Creta Night Edition In addition to the Shadow Gray color, the Exeter Knight edition also has four other monochromatic colors and two two-tone color options: Starry Night, Atlas White, Ranger Khaki, Abyss Black, Ranger Khaki with Abyss Black Roof and Shadow Gray and Abyss Black Roof.
Interior and Features
Inside, the Hyundai Exter Knight Edition has an all-black theme. The chairs have black upholstery with contrasting red fabric. AC vents, air-con control knobs, and footwell lighting also get the red paint. The inner door is also black.
The list of features for this version remains the same as the one on which it is based and includes an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, semi-digital driver display, wireless phone charging, auto AC, single-pane sunroof, and. Dual camera dashcam.
The safety suite of the Exter’s top-spec SX and SX(O) variants include six airbags (as standard), ABS and EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), rear parking -There are cameras, rear fog defogger, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.
Powertrains
The Exter Knight Edition gets the same 1.2-litre petrol engine (83 PS/114 Nm), mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT as a variant based on this 1.2-litre. A petrol-CNG option (69 PS/95 Nm) is also available, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Cost and Competitors
The Hyundai Exter Night Edition commands a price tag of Rs 15,000 for the SX and SX (O) Connect on which it is based. While it has no direct competitors, the Taisor continues to compete with standard Exter rivals like the Tata Punch, Maruti Ignis, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger and is also an alternative to sub-4m crossovers like the Maruti Fronx and Toyota Cities large interior Cruiser.
