After much anticipation, the Tata Punch EV has finally been released, with starting prices of Rs xx lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). The first in its class, the electric micro-SUV draws design inspiration from the updated Tata Nexon EV. It has a range of up to 421 kilometers, two battery pack options, and superior feature comforts.

The primary factor contributing to the Punch EV’s beginning price difference of Rs 5 lakh over its ICE (internal combustion engine) counterpart is the battery pack. The Tata Punch EV costs Rs 2.3 lakh more than Tata’s most economical electric vehicle, the Tiago EV. For an extra Rs 50,000, the Punch EV Long Range variant has the option of a 7.2 kW AC charger.

With the help of 50 kW DC fast charging, the Punch EV’s battery pack can be fully charged from 0 to 80 percent in just 56 minutes. The Punch EV may be charged at home using either of the two available AC chargers (7.2 kW or 3.3 kW); the charging schedules for each are listed below.
Design
The Punch EV adopts Tata’s new design language externally. Wide-ranging LED DRLs, LED headlights positioned vertically, a large bumper, and a smooth skid plate are all added to the fascia. The rear door handle is mounted on the C-Pillar, and the side profile features 16-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels. The back aspect of the petrol-powered Punch appears nearly identical.
The interior of the electric SUV features a layered dashboard design and a dual-tone black and gray interior. It has leatherette upholstery, a gloss black center console, and the new two-spoke steering wheel from Tata with the brand’s illuminated emblem.
Features & Safety
A 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, touch-enabled automated climate control, and ventilated front seats are among the features found in the cabin. Wireless phone charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and an arcade are all included.cruise control, a single-pane sunroof, and ev for watching TV shows and movies.
Six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), electronic parking brake with auto hold, 360-degree camera, blind view monitor, and ABS with EBD are among its safety features.
Rivals
The Citroen eC3’s direct competitor is the Tata Punch EV. It may also be viewed as a high-end substitute for the MG Comet EV, Tata Tiago EV, and Tata Tigor EV.
