- In June 2024, Hyundai ranked as the second best-selling automobile brand, having shipped over 50,000 units in the previous month. The Korean carmaker saw steady demand in sales both year over year (YoY) and month over month (MoM).
- With about 43,000 automobiles shipped in June 2024, Indian automaker Tata ranked third in terms of June sales. Still, its YoY and MoM numbers decreased by about 8% and 9%, respectively.
- Mahindra was the only carmaker to achieve 40,000 sales last month, aside from Tata. Mahindra’s annual sales increased by almost 23% despite a fall in MoM sales of more than 2%.
- In June 2024, Toyota sold over 25,000 cars, with the largest MoM and YoY growth of over 38% and roughly 41%, respectively.

- June 2024 saw MG maintain a steady monthly demand with total sales surpassing 4,600 units, but its yearly sales decreased by more than 9 percent.
- Over 3,500 Renault vehicles were distributed in June. The French brand saw negative growth in monthly sales of 4% and yearly sales of roughly 35% (the highest of all the automakers here).
- With slightly more than 3,000 units sold in June 2024, Volkswagen crossed the sales threshold and ranked tenth in the June sales table. Despite selling 200 more automobiles in June than in May, the company’s year-over-year sales decreased by about 4%.

Jaguar I-Pace Electric SUV Reservations Are Canceled and Taken Down From The Official Indian Website
- Three versions of the I-Pace were first offered by Jaguar: S, SE, and HSE.
- It was discontinued at the end of its existence and was only offered in the heavily laden HSE model.
- It had a dual-motor AWD system and a 90 kWh battery pack.
- A 10-inch touchscreen, a 360-degree camera, and six airbags were among the features available.
- It was last valued at Rs 1.26 crore (ex-showroom, all of India).
One of the first high-end electric cars to be sold in India was the Jaguar I-Pace, which has now been quietly taken off from the automaker’s Indian website. Jaguar has also stopped taking reservations for the electric SUV, which supports the likelihood that it will no longer be available in India.
The Jaguar I-Pace: A Summary
Jaguar launched the I-Pace, a direct competitor of the Mercedes-Benz EQC and Audi e-tron SUV, in India back in 2021. S, SE, and HSE were the three versions that were offered. Towards the conclusion of its life, the I-Pace was only offered in one HSE variant, though.
There were two motor options and a single battery pack option for the all-electric Jaguar SUV. The specifics are as follows:
Specification | Jaguar I-Pace |
Battery Pack | 90 kWh |
No. of electric motors | Dual-motor, all-wheel-drive |
Power | 400 PS |
Torque | 696 Nm |
WLTP-claimed range | 470 km |
With a DC fast charger capable of 60 kW, the I-Pace could fully charge the SUV in 15 minutes, allowing it to go 127 kilometers. In just 55 minutes, the I-Pace could be fully charged with the same fast charger. The I-Pace’s battery pack could be charged to 270 km with 1 hour using a 50 kW charger. Additionally, an optional 11 kW wall box charger and a 7.4 kW AC charger were included; the latter allowed the car to be fully charged in 12.9 hours.
Features And Safety Tech
Jaguar had fitted the I-Pace with a fully digital driver’s display, a 10-inch touchscreen, a 5.5-inch display for the temperature controls, and 16-way power, heated, and cooled memory front seats.
Six airbags, a 360-degree camera, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and parking assistance made up its safety net.
Price Range And Competition
The ex-showroom, nationwide pricing of the Jaguar I-Pace was Rs 1.26 crore as of the recent record. It competed with the BMW iX, Audi e-tron, and Mercedes-Benz EQC.

See Which Charges Faster: Mahindra XUV400 EV vs. Tata Nexon EV?
The Mahindra XUV400 EV is the closest competitor to the Tata Nexon EV, which is the most well-liked electric SUV in the nation. Their top varieties feature DC fast charging and have comparable capacities thanks to their larger battery packs. In practical terms, however, which of these could charge from 15 percent to full power more quickly?
Our research indicates that both automobiles require the same amount of time to fully charge their batteries at comparable charging speeds starting at 15%. This benefits the Nexon EV since the larger battery of the XUV400 EV has a capacity of 39.4 kWh, whilst the Long Range models get a slightly larger battery pack at 40.5 kWh. While the Mahindra XUV400 EV claims a range of 456 km, the Nexon EV LR claims a range of 465 km. If you’re pressed for time, though, the Mahindra electric SUV can top off its range more quickly—45 minutes—than the Tata EV.
It’s also important to remember that automakers do not advise doing successive fast charging cycles to extend the battery pack’s lifespan. Would you like us to compare how long it takes to charge these two EVs using a 15A household plug or a 3.2kW AC charger? Tell us in the comments section below.
Prices
Tata Nexon EV | Mahindra XUV400 |
Rs 14.49 lakh to Rs 19.49 lakh | Rs 15.49 lakh to Rs 19.39 lakh |
