Maruti Suzuki’s 2024 Receives Three Stars in the Euro NCAP Crash Tests
- In terms of adult occupant protection, the new Swift scored 26.9 out of 40.
- In terms of child occupant protection, it received 32.1/49 points.
- Because ADAS is available, the global-spec model also receives additional safety technology.
- The Swift is priced between Rs 6.49 lakh and Rs 9.60 lakh (introductory ex-showroom in India).
Euro NCAP has conducted crash tests for the fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift, which was introduced in India in May 2024 (new car assessment program). In the safety assessments, it received an overall rating of three stars. It should be mentioned that Swift received four stars in the Japanese NCAP test, a higher rating.
Protection of Adult Occupants – 26.9/40 Pts (67%)
The new Swift was graded on four factors, including rescue and extrication, as well as three impact tests (front, lateral, and rear), per Euro NCAP regulations. The front passengers’ heads were protected “well” by the Maruti Suzuki hatchback, while their chests were only “weakly” to “adequately” protected. It demonstrated “good” knee and femur protection for the driver and passenger. A few places on the dashboard presented a risk to individuals with varied builds and seating postures, according to Euro NCAP. The actual passenger cabin received a “stable” rating.
The safety authority examines and grants an automobile under the rescue and extrication parameter based on the presence of a rescue sheet, an emergency call system, a multi-collision brake, and a submergence check. In the case of a collision, the 2024 Swift’s e-calling system not only notifies the emergency authorities but also partially complies with Euro NCAP regulations. When the Swift lost power after entering the water, its doors, if locked, could be opened in two minutes, but it’s not certain how long the windows would stay functional.
Protection of Child Occupants: 32.1/49 Points (65%)
In the frontal offset test, the Swift provided “poor” protection for the 10-year-old dummy’s neck. Head protection received a rating of “adequate,” but chest protection was considered “marginal.” About the 6-year-old dummy, the Suzuki hatchback offered “marginal” head protection and “weak” neck protection. The 10-year-old dummy’s chest protection in the side barrier test was evaluated as “poor,” while its neck protection was assessed as “weak.”
Road Users at Risk (VRU): 48/63 Points, or 76%
The vehicle rollover (VRU) portion of the test evaluates the car’s safety for people who could accidentally run into it or tumble on it. While the front bumper is unlikely to mangle their legs, the new Swift’s bonnet offers “adequate” protection for pedestrians. The protection for the pelvic, femur, knee, and tibia region was assessed as “good.” That being said, when it came to the A-pillars, it received a “poor” rating. Fortunately, in most situations, its autonomous emergency braking (AEB) does a “fairly good” job of identifying bikes and pedestrians to prevent collisions.
Safety Assists – 11.3/18 Pts (62 Percent)
Some advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), such as front collision warning and autonomous emergency braking (AEB), are exclusive to the global-spec fourth-generation Swift and are not offered by the India-spec vehicle. Its lane support and speed detection systems, as well as its automated emergency braking (AEB) system, all functioned satisfactorily in detecting other vehicles, according to the results of the Euro NCAP tests. Its driver status monitoring system, however, is limited to identifying driver fatigue. The Swift’s overall rating has been lowered because it lacks an occupant detecting system.
More Details Regarding Maruti Suzuki Swift 2024
The new Swift is available at Maruti in five general variants: Lxi, Vxi, Vxi (O), Zxi, and Zxi+. A 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine (82 PS/112 Nm) coupled to a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT gearbox is the powerplant option.
Cost And Competitors
The starting ex-showroom pricing range for the Maruti Suzuki Swift is Rs 6.49 lakh to Rs 9.60 lakh (India). It competes with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and acts as a substitute for the sub-4 million Renault Triber crossover MPV.

New, less expensive BYD Atto 3 versions are coming soon, according to BYD India. They will go on sale on July 10. Now, ahead of its release, we have access to unique sources for information on the updated Atto 3. The Atto 3, which was previously only sold in one variant, is now available in three: Dynamic, Premium, and Superior. Let’s examine the exact details and attributes of every new version:
Powertrain
The e-motor, which still produces the same amount of power and torque as the top variation, has not changed, but the base-spec Dynamic variant of the Atto 3 will now have a smaller 50 kWh battery pack. The range of this new base model is 468 km (ARAI). With a stated range of 521 km, the mid-spec model has the same battery pack as the top trim.
Specifications | Dynamic (New) | Premium (New) | Superior |
Battery Pack | 50 kWh | 60 kWh | 60 kWh |

Features And Safety
The Dynamic edition which is less expensive will be lacking features such as a powered tailgate, ambient lighting with many colors, and an eight-speaker sound system instead of just six speakers. ADAS (currently available only on the top model) and adaptive LED headlights will also be absent.
Nonetheless, a panoramic sunroof, a 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, 60:40 split rear seats, a 5-inch digital driver’s display, and a 12.8-inch rotatable touchscreen featuring Android Auto and Apple CarPlay will be standard on all three versions.

See Which Charges Faster: Mahindra XUV400 EV vs. Tata Nexon EV?
The Mahindra XUV400 EV is the closest competitor to the Tata Nexon EV, which is the most well-liked electric SUV in the nation. Their top varieties feature DC fast charging and have comparable capacities thanks to their larger battery packs. In practical terms, however, which of these could charge from 15 percent to full power more quickly?
Our research indicates that both automobiles require the same amount of time to fully charge their batteries at comparable charging speeds starting at 15%. This benefits the Nexon EV since the larger battery of the XUV400 EV has a capacity of 39.4 kWh, whilst the Long Range models get a slightly larger battery pack at 40.5 kWh. While the Mahindra XUV400 EV claims a range of 456 km, the Nexon EV LR claims a range of 465 km. If you’re pressed for time, though, the Mahindra electric SUV can top off its range more quickly—45 minutes—than the Tata EV.
It’s also important to remember that automakers do not advise doing successive fast charging cycles to extend the battery pack’s lifespan. Would you like us to compare how long it takes to charge these two EVs using a 15A household plug or a 3.2kW AC charger? Tell us in the comments section below.
Prices
Tata Nexon EV | Mahindra XUV400 |
Rs 14.49 lakh to Rs 19.49 lakh | Rs 15.49 lakh to Rs 19.39 lakh |
The top versions of both electric SUVs are priced similarly, however, the Nexon EV has a cheaper starting price. On the other hand, the Tata offering comes with a 360-degree camera, and a larger touchscreen with Arcade. ev functionality, and ventilated front seats.

The most lucid spy photos to date show the Skoda Sub-4m SUV once more.
- We were able to get a better look at the subcompact SUV‘s tail light cluster in the most recent spy photo.
- Given that the vehicle was observed with steel wheels covered in black, it seems to be a lower-spec version.
- Highlight features can be a sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a 10-inch touchscreen.
- It is expected to be equipped with a rear parking camera, electronic stability control (ESC), and six airbags for safety.
- Most likely to come with a 6-speed MT or 6-speed AT transmission and a 1-liter turbo-petrol engine choice.
- By 2025, it is anticipated to go on sale in India for Rs 8.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
One of the next nameplates the automaker plans to launch in India is the Skoda sub-4m SUV, which is anticipated to happen in 2025. The same MQB-A0-IN platform that powers the Skoda Slavia and Kushaq will serve as its foundation. Here’s what we noticed when we just met the forthcoming subcompact SUV test mule again.
A Lookalike Of Kushaq
According to the most recent spy photos, the subcompact SUV would resemble the current Kushaq SUV in terms of shape and design. Even with its extensive disguise, the test mule’s split headlights and LED DRLs are discernible in these most lucid spy photos to date. The small SUV from Skoda has the same butterfly Skoda grille as the Kushaq.
The subcompact SUV test mule was equipped with steel wheels covered in black wheel covers. We also got a chance to take a close look at the Skoda subcompact SUV’s LED tail lights, which resemble those on the Kushaq.
Cabin & Attributes
We haven’t had a chance to take a look inside the Skoda subcompact SUV, but we think the steering wheel and infotainment system are the same as those of the Kushaq. It is anticipated to be equipped with a sunroof, automated air conditioning, ventilated front seats, a fully digital driver display, and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) can be included in its safety equipment.
Most Likely To Receive Only One Engine Choice
Only a 1-liter turbo-petrol engine, which is presently available with the Kushaq and Slavia, was allowed for Skoda’s subcompact SUV. With a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual transmission, this engine produces 115 PS and 178 Nm.
Anticipated Cost & Competitors
Early in 2025, the Skoda sub-4m SUV is anticipated to go on sale in India, with costs starting at approximately Rs 8.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Along with the Maruti Fronx and Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor sub-4m crossovers, it will compete with the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite.
