- Pricing for the fully outfitted quattro variant could start at Rs 80 lakh (ex-showroom); an India debut is possible in 2025.
The Audi Q6 e-tron is a brand-new electric vehicle that Audi has just unveiled. It will sit below the Q8 e-tron in the luxury brand’s lineup and is built on the new PPE (Premium Platform Electric) architecture of the Volkswagen Group.
A Genuine Gazer
Thanks to its hefty grille and split lighting arrangement, which places the LED DRLs in the upper part of the front, the car has an aggressive visage. Additionally, customers can choose from eight different lighting signatures for the Matrix LED modules to customize the headlamp system on their Q6 e-tron.
The Q6 e-Tron features a stylish set of alloy wheels and the recognizable profile of an Audi SUV from the side view. Proceeding to the back, it is equipped with six OLED screens for connected taillights, which have 360 segments in total and produce a new animation every 10 milliseconds. Additionally, Audi has improved the functionality of the rear lighting component by enabling active communication with automobiles that come after the Q6 e-tron. By displaying important warning symbols, it will alert the vehicle following the Audi EV to potential traffic conditions or accidents up ahead.
The Audi Q6 e-tron Electric, which features distinctive alloy wheels and blacked-out accents, is the slightly sportier sibling of the Q6 e-tron that was also unveiled. Being the initial Audi vehicle built on Here are the dimensions of the new PPE platform about the brand’s existing flagship EV SUV
Dimension | Audi Q6 e-tron | Audi Q8 e-tron |
Length | 4771 mm | 4915 mm |
Width | 1993 mm | 1976 mm |
Height | 1648 mm | 1632 mm |
Wheelbase | 2899 mm | 2928 mm |
The Q8 e-tron offers a longer wheelbase and is longer overall, although the Q6 e-tron is still broader and higher than the latter. There is more interior legroom in the Q8 e-tron due to its larger size.
All-new Audi Interior
The Q6 e-tron, a recent addition to the family, introduces the new interior design language for Audi that will also be included in subsequent generations. The driver and center screens have curved, dual-integrated screens, and the majority of the dashboard is now entirely digital. Three screens are still available: an 11.9-inch digital driver’s display, a sizable 14.5-inch infotainment system, and a 10.9-inch co-passenger display. The climate controls have been moved up to the central display and no longer have a dedicated touchscreen interface in the console. The “Active Privacy Mode” on the co-passenger screen helps keep the driver from being distracted.
An optional augmented reality-based heads-up display is also available for the Q6 e-tron, which may show data like speed, traffic signs, and navigational symbols. Additionally, Audi has enhanced its voice assistant, dubbed “Audi Assistant,” by using artificial intelligence (A.I.) that can recognize more than 800 speech requests. It continually gains knowledge from user behavior and helps the driver as a result.
Additionally, a light bar that runs from the left front door to the right front door is located at the top of the dashboard. It has three features, the first of which is a welcome feature that lets you know when the automobile is locked or unlocked. Second, it mimics the dynamic turn indication lights in the digital cluster without actually replacing the conventional indicator signage. Finally, it displays the charge level as well as the pricing procedure.
A 360-degree camera, wireless phone charging, an 830W 20-speaker Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system, and several advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are among the other features on board. The SQ6 e-tron’s cabin is completely black, whereas the Q6 e-tron’s is generally lighter and still features chrome accents throughout.
Information About Its Electric Drivetrains
The global-spec Q6 e-tron will initially be available from Audi in two variants: the Q6 e-tron quattro and the SQ6 e-tron, whose specs are shown below.
Specification | Q6 e-tron quattro | SQ6 e-tron |
Battery Pack | 94.9 kWh | 94.9 kWh |
No. of electric motors | 2 | 2 |
WLTP-claimed Range | 625 km | 598 km |
0-100 kmph | 5.9 seconds | 4.3 seconds |
Audi will eventually release rear-wheel drive (RWD) versions of the EV, contingent on market demand, even though both have an all-wheel drive (AWD) system. A later release will see the unveiling of an RWD Q6 e-tron with a smaller 83 kWh battery pack. In just 21 minutes, the 100 kWh battery pack (total capacity) may be fully charged from 10 to 80 percent thanks to its 800-volt electric architecture, which enables fast charging of up to 270 kW. Audi includes a standard 11 kW AC charger on board that can fully charge the battery in a single night. Later on, the German automaker will also provide its customers with a speedier 22 kW AC charging option.
Additionally, a smart new fast-charging option is available for stations that are limited to 400-volt technology. In this case, the Q6 e-tron may parallel charge with up to 150 kW via bank charging, which splits the 800-volt battery configuration into two batteries with equivalent voltages. Both battery halves are equalized first, and then they are charged simultaneously, depending on the battery’s current level of charge. Similar technology can be seen in contemporary smartphones, which have larger batteries to assure optimal performance and lower the risk of battery damage.
Price And Anticipated India Release
The Audi Q6 and the SQ6 e-tron are expected to arrive in India sometime in 2025, even though they have only been formally confirmed for Germany and a few other European markets up to this point. The starting price of the fully outfitted quattro version is expected to be Rs 80 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be a high-end substitute for vehicles such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, and Volvo C40 Recharge.
