Maruti Increases Manesar Plant Production Capacity To Up To 9 Lakh Units Year

Maruti has several manufacturing facilities in India, three of which are located in Manesar. Maruti has set up a new assembly line at Plant-A, the largest of the three plants, with a production capacity of one lakh vehicles annually.
The Manesar plant’s annual manufacturing capacity has increased to 9 lakh units thanks to this facility expansion. Maruti just passed the 3 crore unit production mark, of which 95 lakh vehicles were produced at the Manesar factory. The Maruti Ertiga was the first vehicle to be produced on this recently installed assembly line, which is currently operational.
The Maruti automobiles that will be produced on this new assembly line are currently unknown, however, because the Ertiga was produced there, the MPV is one of the models. Maruti also produces the Ciaz, XL6, Celerio, Brezza, WagonR, Dzire, and S-Presso automobiles in the Manesar facility.
In addition to increasing Maruti’s annual car production, this new assembly line may also assist reduce wait times—particularly if Maruti uses it to produce its shared goods with Toyota, which presently has lengthy wait times. For instance, the waiting period for the Toyota Rumion is currently up to 15 months.
In the next seven to eight years, Maruti Suzuki intends to raise its manufacturing capacity from the present 23.5 lakh units per year to 40 lakh units per year.

Although Maruti Suzuki was a little late to the SUV game, it has more than made up for lost time by overtaking all other SUV manufacturers in recent months in terms of sales. There are four SUVs in its current lineup (including the Arena and Nexa), including the Fronx crossover SUV, which is based on the Maruti Baleno, and the 5-door Maruti Jimny.
