Hyundai i20 N Line Facelift For Europe Unveiled: See How It Differs From The India-Specified Model
The redesigned i20 N Line from Hyundai has been formally unveiled for the European market, and production is set to commence shortly. Although the facelifted Hyundai i20 N Line was released for the Indian market last year, the new European-spec model is a little different and comes with extra amenities in addition to styling modifications. The variations between the two i20 N Line variants may be seen here.
Front
This hatchback’s appearance is impacted by the minor design variations in the fascia. Although it is designed identically, the European version’s front grille appears to be a little larger.
Here, the fog lamp housing and front bumper design are also the main differences. With a more triangular-shaped fog lamp housing and a sleeker front bumper devoid of red elements like the Indian-spec version, the European specification version is more appealing.
Side
The alloy wheels’ color is the most obvious difference at its side. The wheels on the European-spec i20 N Line are completely black, but the alloy designs are essentially the same on both models. In addition, the alloy wheels on this version are 17 inches in diameter instead of the 16 inches on the India-spec model.
Another modification is the side cladding, which is a little sharper on the hatchback built to European specs.
Back
The back profile also has some subtle but noticeable variations. First off, the European i20 N Line has a unique bumper with air dams on both sides and a bulky overall appearance. Second, the chrome strip between the tail lights is absent from the European-spec version even though the light configuration is the same.
A driver’s fully digital display
The interior is the same as the exterior but with N Line-specific features. A 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display, like the one on the facelifted Hyundai Creta, is included in the European specification version. The semi-digital driver’s display on the India-spec model is smaller.
Increased Safety
The advanced driver assistance system, or ADAS, is another significant feature addition in addition to the driver’s display. A comprehensive range of driver assistance systems, such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, park assist, lane keep assist, and auto emergency braking, are included with the European model. These features are absent from the India-spec version, which is limited to a basic feature package that includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, hill hold assist, a rearview camera, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.
Lightly hybrid technology
Hyundai’s i20 N Line, a European car, has the same 1-liter turbo-petrol engine as the India-spec car, but it also has 48V mild hybrid technology, which increases total fuel efficiency. Even yet, a tune is available that keeps peak power at 120 PS while marginally raising peak torque to 200 Nm from 172 Nm.
These were the main distinctions between the i20 N Line designed for Europe and the i20 N Line designed for India. Which version appears better to you? Tell us in the comments section below.

Five Various Drive Selector (Gear Selector) Types for Automatic Vehicles
Five Various Drive Selector: Since the traffic in India has been becoming worse, automatic transmissions have grown more and more popular among Indian automobile buyers, particularly those looking for a more comfortable driving experience. Modern automatic transmissions come in a plethora of different designs, and the drive (mode) shifter’s design has also changed from the traditional shift-stick orientation. Moving from P (Park) to D (Drive) or R (Reverse) offers a variety of experiences thanks to this. We will examine five distinct styles of driving mode/gear selectors that are present in automatic vehicles in this post.
AMT Zig Zag Pattern Lever
The majority of cars with Automated Manual Transmissions (AMTs), which automate a manual transmission using hydraulic actuators managed by an ECU, have this kind of gear selector lever. When switching between park, drive, and reverse, the gear selector in an AMT gearbox car moves in a zigzag pattern rather than a straight line. This gear lever also has a manual mode that allows you to manually shift gears using a plus/minus pattern. It is the least expensive kind of gearbox available in mass-market vehicles from companies like Tata, Hyundai, and Maruti.
DCT, torque converters (AT), and CVT are examples of forward and backward transmission shifters
Straight-forward and backward pattern drive selector levers are another popular kind found in cars with automatic transmissions. Most cars with torque converters (AT), continuously variable transmissions (CVT), and dual-clutch transmissions (DCT) have this kind of gear lever. Furthermore, this gear lever frequently has a plus/minus pattern manual or sport mode that gives the driver greater control over changing or allows the engine to rev higher before shifting up a gear to maximize engine performance while driving. (Five Various Drive Selector)
Because these transmissions provide a more sophisticated driving experience and have more sophisticated technology than AMT gearboxes, they are more expensive. These kinds of gear selectors are found in most hybrid, diesel, and turbo-petrol vehicles.
Toggle Type Drive Selector for High-End ICE and EV Vehicles
In their high-end internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, more and more manufacturers are substituting the conventional shift stick with a toggle-style drive selection. The drive mode, which is shown on the instrument cluster or as a backlit letter, can be changed by pushing the toggle drive mode selector forward or backward. This form has the benefit of giving the central console greater space for storage or just a more organized console layout. To manually shift through the gears, these vehicles typically include paddle shifters mounted behind the wheel.
This kind of drive mode selector is seen on the Citroen C5 Aircross and Citroen eC3 electric hatchback, as well as on contemporary Porsche vehicles.
Rotary Drive Selector
These drive mode selections are available with both ICE vehicles and electric automobiles, and they are more prevalent than the toggle, at least in Indian cars. You must turn the dial in the direction indicated by illuminated characters to choose the desired drive mode. The Nexon, Punch EV, Nexon EV, Harrier, and Safari Tata models are the main ones with this dial arrangement. Luxury manufacturers like Jaguar and Land Rover, on the other hand, go one step further and build it such that it can be folded flat into the console when not in use and pops up when the vehicle is started.
To manually shift gears, cars with this configuration typically include paddle shifters.
Stalk Drive Selector (Rear of the Steering Wheel)
Given that drive selectors are found in many vintage cars, it’s surprising to learn that this may be one of the earliest designs. These days, nevertheless, Rolls Royce and Mercedes-Benz vehicles are the most common to have this practical stalk arrangement positioned behind the steering wheel. Just raise or lower the stalk in the direction indicated by the P, N, D, and R markings to change between drive modes.

Toyota Innova Hycross surpasses the 50,000 sales milestone this year
The third-generation Toyota Innova Hycross, a well-liked MPV, made its debut in the Indian market towards the end of 2022. The Toyota Innova Hycross has now exceeded the 50,000-unit sales milestone in our market in just over a year.
Why It Matters to Reach This Milestone
The most recent milestone reached by the Toyota Innova Hycross is significant because it completely contradicts what earlier Innova iterations—which have been around since the MPV was first introduced in India in 2005—were supposed to stand for. Toyota altered the MPV’s composition for the third generation model, switching from a body-on-frame to a monocoque chassis, opting for front-wheel drive (FWD) instead of rear-wheel drive (RWD), and changing the vehicle’s primary powertrain from diesel to gasoline (with the addition of a strong-hybrid option for the first time).
It’s nevertheless admirable that the MPV has been well accepted by Indian buyers despite all these significant alterations. At least six months are currently being waited for in major cities. Its long list of advantages, which includes five years of free roadside support, decreased maintenance costs for Toyota vehicles, and an eight-year/1.6 lakh km warranty on the battery pack of the strong-hybrid system, are probably contributing factors to its enormous popularity.
India’s Innings Thus Far.
In late 2022, Toyota introduced the Innova Hycross to the Indian market. It was priced between Rs 18.30 lakh and Rs 18.30 lakh for both 7- and 8-seater models. The MPV had an average wait period of three to four months in the major cities within the first few months of operation.
It saw its first price increase in March 2023, increasing the price by up to Rs 75,000. The same month, Toyota ceased accepting orders for its highest-end ZX and ZX(O) models. In February 2024, reservations for these two variations are presently unavailable once more.
In July 2023, it also received a rebadged cousin, the Maruti Invicto, with a few changes, such as a revised design, a little altered equipment lineup, and only one hybrid powertrain choice.
A Brief Overview Of Its Features
The Innova Hycross is brimming with high-end features, and it has all those significant improvements over the previous Innovas. It comes equipped with a 7-inch digital driver’s display, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a 10-inch touchscreen system.
Included in its safety equipment are six airbags, a 360-degree camera, parking sensors in the front and rear, and a few advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) including autonomous emergency braking and adaptive cruise control.
Technical Details
- There are two powertrain choices available
- a 2-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor and an e-CVT that produces 186 PS system output.
- The same 2.0-liter gasoline engine (174 PS and 205 Nm) without any electrification is mated to a CVT.
Price range and Competitors
The ex-showroom price range for the Toyota Innova Hycross is between Rs 19.77 lakh and Rs 30.68 lakh. It competes with the Maruti Invicto and is a more expensive alternative to the Toyota Innova Crysta, which only has diesel power, and the Kia Carens, which has a lesser range of engine options.
