Maruti Jimny Extreme: Enhanced to Appear Larger and More Vibrant
This customized Maruti Jimny has a snorkel in addition to chunky off-road tires.
The five-door Maruti Jimny was first offered in India as a useful substitute for the Mahindra Thar. Despite having full-time four-wheel drive (4WD) as standard, Maruti’s off-road SUV has drawn criticism for being less powerful and smaller than the three-door Thar. We recently came across a specially designed Maruti Jimny that seems to solve the size problem. Let’s examine it more closely as it appears in these four pictures.
In addition, a snorkel has been added to the entire A-pillar of this Jimny, improving its ability to wade through water and slush, even in deeper pools than the standard Maruti Jimny. The increased height and ground clearance for this SUV variant are, however, not precisely known – Maruti Jimny Extreme Car
We can see the enormous set of 15-inch high profile off-road tires, which have a width of 315 mm, superior in profile. The wheel’s overall height, measured from the bottom to the top, is almost 35 inches, or 7.72 inches higher than the height of the tires that come with the standard Jimny. In addition to offering better traction and contact in difficult conditions, these off-road tires with deep grooves are more resilient than standard tires for demanding off-road use.
The Jimny’s tailgate is even equipped with an extra wheel sporting customized rims and tires, adding to the hefty rear end of the SUV. Everything about the design is the same except for the new wheel.
What Drives The Jimny-spec India?
A 1.5-liter petrol engine with 105 PS and 134 Nm powers the Maruti Jimny. Either a 4-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual transmission is attached to this unit. The drivetrain comes equipped with four-wheel drive (4WD) as standard. It’s unknown what modifications have been made to the engine of this custom-spec Jimny.
Safety & Features
The factory specifications The Maruti Jimny comes equipped with features including cruise control, automatic climate control, and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wifi Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold and descent control, and a rearview camera all ensure safety.
Price Range and Competitors
The pricing of the Maruti Jimny in India ranges from Rs 12.74 lakh to Rs 15.05 lakh. It competes against the Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha, two other sub-4m off-road vehicles.

India’s Next N Line Model May Be The Hyundai Creta in 2024
The powerful turbo-petrol engine option is returning on the 2017 Creta, but some design cues and gearbox options lead us to think Hyundai is saving them for the N Line version of the SUV.
In terms of performance, the Hyundai Creta 2024 has emerged as the leader of the segment. In addition to all the new amenities and a redesigned exterior style, the facelifted compact SUV now comes with a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine option that produces 160 PS. With the Creta N Line, Hyundai seems like they could provide us additional customization options for this powerful engine – India’s Next N Line Model Hyundai Creta.
What Leads Us to Believe That
- Dedicated Users’ Manual Option
We believe the Creta N Line may finally be coming our way for a few reasons. As previously stated, the turbo-petrol engine of the redesigned Creta is only available with a 7-speed DCT transmission. With the Verna and Alcazar, the same engine does, however, have the option of a 6-speed manual. This suggests that the Creta N Line might be the only way to get these alternatives – India’s Next N Line Model Hyundai Creta.
- Increased Accessibility
It’s also important to keep in mind that Hyundai is only offering the turbocharged gasoline engine on the fully loaded SX (O) option, which costs Rs 20 lakh. Therefore, we think that, similar to the Venue and Venue N Line, the Creta N Line may provide the same drivetrain with further SUV options.
- Design Distinctiveness
The turbo-petrol engine choice for the pre-facelift Creta was distinguished from other engine options by the color of the exhaust and the cabin. The turbo-petrol version of the facelifted Creta, however, lacks this difference. The ‘N Line’ insignia, sportier alloy wheels with brake callipers, a blacked-out interior, and even dual exhaust tips are expected to be some of the cosmetic enhancements that the Creta N Line will carry over from the ordinary model.
- The Global Creta N Line Exists
Finally, Hyundai has already expanded its N Line lineup in international markets with the Creta SUV. It is already available for purchase in a select South American locations (though not in the India-spec version), which increases the likelihood that the automaker will eventually tease us with a glimpse of the SUV’s more aggressively styled version.
Powertrain Details
The 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine (160 PS/253 Nm) that powers the regular model will be available for the 2024 Hyundai Creta N Line. It is expected to come with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch automatic transmission). Hyundai also provides two other engine options for the basic Creta; our comprehensive launch article contains the information for these variants. To distinguish it out even further from the standard Creta, the N Line variant may feature a slightly modified suspension system for improved handling.
Anticipated Release Date and Cost
It is anticipated that the Hyundai Creta N Line would go on sale in the upcoming months, with a starting price of approximately Rs 17.50 lakh. Its primary competitors will be the Kia Seltos GTX+ and X-Line, but it will also offer a sportier-looking substitute for vehicles like the Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor, and Skoda Kushaq.

- The Kia Sonet’s beginning price has increased by Rs 20,000 due to the facelift, although it is still less expensive than the Maruti Brezza. With a starting price of Rs 6 lakh each, the Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger are still the least expensive options in the market.
- The prices of the Sonet’s lower-spec models (HTE, HTK, and HTK+) are in line with those of the Nissan Magnite and the complete lineup of Renault Kiger.
- The Kia SUV’s turbo-petrol versions begin at a price up to Rs 70,000 more than the Nissan-Renault turbo models. However, the cost of the Sonet turbo is similar to that of the Maruti Brezza’s higher-spec ZXi and ZXi+ models, with the latter being up to Rs 91,000 less expensive.

- The automatic (AMT) versions of the Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger are the most economical in the market, beginning at Rs 6.60 lakh and Rs 7.10 lakh, respectively, just like their manual counterparts. The Magnite became the most reasonably priced SUV in India with an automatic transmission only in late 2023, whereas the Kiger had the AMT option from the beginning of its launch in 2021.
- The highest entry point for an SUV to purchase a petrol-automatic combination is the 2024 Sonet. It is available with a dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT) exclusively on the turbo-petrol powerplant.
- Apart from the LXi basic model, the Maruti Brezza is the only vehicle in its portfolio to offer a conventional torque converter automatic option for the petrol engine.
- The priciest petrol-automatic combination available for the aforementioned sub-4 million SUVs is the Sonet GTX+, which retails for Rs 14.50 lakh. Additionally, there’s a special edition X-Line trim that costs roughly Rs 20,000 more than the fully loaded GTX+, making it the most expensive variation on this table by almost a lakh.
