Tata Curvv vs. Tata Nexon: An explanation of the seven most significant differences
Tata’s next compact SUV, the Curvv, shares certain design similarities with the Nexon, but it differs greatly from its sub-4 million SUV sister.
Recently, the Tata Curvv made its formal debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 in a closer-to-production avatar. This variant was not electric; rather, it was the internal combustion engine (ICE) version. Though it is a more fashionable model, it is the Indian automaker’s challenger for the small SUV market, going up against established names like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The Nexon, a sub-4-meter SUV, was your only choice for a compact Tata SUV up until this point, but that will soon change. With the Curvv sitting between the Nexon and Harrier, you may choose a larger Tata SUV without having to go all the way to the 4.6-meter-long Harrier.
Let’s examine the seven main distinctions between the Curvv and Nexon’s ICE versions in this tale
Size
Dimension | Curvv | Nexon | Difference |
Length | 4308 mm | 3995 mm | +313 mm |
Width | 1810 mm | 1804 mm | +6 mm |
Height | 1630 mm | 1620 mm | +10 mm |
Wheelbase | 2560 mm | 2498 mm | +62 mm |
It is smaller than the Nexon in every way. The Curvv is a sub-4 meter SUV that can compete directly with vehicles like the Hyundai Creta and Maruti Grand Vitara because of its length of over 4.3 meters. The Curvv will probably have more rear legroom than the Nexon because to its advantage in overall length and wheelbase. In contrast, the Nexon lags slightly behind in terms of both height and width.
Variations In Style And Designs
The Curvv’s most distinctive feature is its coupe-style roofline that flows into its raised rear end. On the Curvv, Tata has also incorporated flush-fitting door handles, which, should they make it into the production-spec car, may be a first for the segment.
A further point of differentiation may be seen in the rear of the two SUVs. The Curvv boasts a larger rear profile and boot lid, which should provide more room for luggage in the boot than the Nexon’s upright tailgate. According to paper, this means that the Curvv’s boot space is bigger than the Nexon’s, at 422 liters, or 40 liters more.
Bigger Wheels
The company used larger 18-inch alloy wheels on the Curvv’s showcase version, while the Nexon’s higher-spec models come with 16-inch units. The alloy wheels of the Curvv feature a petal-like design, while the Nexon’s wheels contain plastic aero flaps inside the diamond-cut pattern (which, according to Tata, help to improve aerodynamic efficiency).
Open-Air Sunroof
Instead of using a single pane sunroof like the Nexon, Tata has chosen to use a panoramic one on the Curvv. It should undoubtedly contribute to the cabin’s feeling both lighter and less cramped inside. (Tata Curvv vs Tata Nexon)
Steering wheel resembling a Harrier
Although the Curvv and Nexon share many interior features, the Curvv’s 2-spoke steering wheel is different. Rather, Tata fitted it with a 4-spoke steering wheel akin to the Harrier, which houses the audio and phone functions along with the lighted “Tata” emblem.
A Larger Touchscreen
The Curvv boasts an even larger central screen than the Nexon, despite the latter receiving larger digital displays (10.25-inch apiece) for infotainment and instrumentation with its most recent midlife upgrade. The new Nexon EV, which has wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, has the same 12.3-inch unit. (Tata Curvv vs Tata Nexon)
ADAS
It is anticipated that Tata will equip the Curvv with nearly same safety features as the Nexon, such as a 360-degree camera and six airbags. But if it has some advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS), that will probably take things a step further. It ought to have functions like automated emergency braking (AEB), rear-cross traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control.
Prices
Tata Curvv (expected) | Tata Nexon |
Rs 10.50 lakh to Rs 16 lakh | Rs 8.10 lakh to Rs 15.50 lakh |
Given its bigger size and abundance of features, the Curvv is expected to command a higher price than the Nexon. The mid-spec Curvv variants and the higher-spec Nexon variants will, nevertheless, also have similar prices.
These are a few of the most significant distinctions between the Nexon and the forthcoming Curvv SUV-coupe. How do you feel about these variations? Tell us in the comments below.

Comparing Tata Safari Dark and Red Dark in Pictures
The outside of the Tata Safari Red Dark variant features red inlays, and the interior features red leatherette seat upholstery.
At the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi in 2024, the Tata Safari Red Dark edition was on display. This version of the Safari is based on the highest-end, six-seater Accomplished Plus model. We examine the variations between the Tata Safari’s new Red Dark variant and its already-available Dark model in this comparison. Both the Safari Red Dark edition and the Oberon Black exterior tone are available, however the latter has unique red highlights inside and out. Let’s examine the visual differences between these two SUVs.
The front designs of the Tata Safari are the same in the Red Dark and Dark versions. On both SUV models, the air dam and skid plate are blacked out. The Red Dark variant of the Safari is distinguished only by a red insert in the headlight housing and a Dark Chrome Tata logo. On the other hand, the Tata logo in standard chrome is attached to the Safari Dark edition.
LED DRL
All-LED headlights and taillights with integrated LED DRLs are standard on both SUV models. There are additional welcome and farewell animations in the DRL configuration.
Speaking about the profile, the Tata Safari Red Dark edition has a red “Safari” mascot on the front doors, whereas the Dark version has a black one. The Red Dark edition has red-painted brake callipers, despite the fact that the alloy wheel design is the same for both versions.
The Safari Red Dark has a red tailgate with a chrome finish, while the Dark version has a red-colored badge. The Red Dark and Dark versions of the SUV share the same appearance aside from the insignia. Connected LED taillights with hello and farewell animations are included with both variants.
The interior of the two SUVs is where the biggest differences are found. The red-leatherette seat upholstery and red accents on the black dashboard are unique to the Red Dark variant of the Safari. The Dark version of the Safari, on the other hand, features a black leatherette seat upholstery.
With the Red Dark edition of the SUV, Tata hasn’t altered the feature list, though. Features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, and a 10-speaker JBL sound system are included with the Red Dark and Dark versions of the Tata Safari. Additionally, they receive an air purifier, a 6-way power driver’s seat with memory and welcome function, a 4-way powered co-driver’s seat with electric boss mode, a gesture-enabled operated tailgate, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, a panoramic sunroof, and ventilated front and rear seats (in the 6-seater version).
Up to seven airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill assist, TPMS, a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are all included in the safety kit.
Specifics of the Powertrain
A 2-liter diesel engine producing 170 PS and 350 Nm powers the Tata Safari. This engine is paired with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. This set of SUVs has the latter transmission choice.
Pricing Range and Competitors
The Tata Safari is priced between Rs 16.19 lakh and Rs 27.34 lakh. The cost of the SUV’s highest-spec Dark edition is Rs 27.34 lakh. The SUV’s Red Dark model will probably cost a little more than its Dark version. The Mahindra XUV700 7 and 6 passenger versions, the Hyundai Alcazar, and the MG Hector Plus are the rivals of the Safari.
