The Toyota Hilux Can Be Adapted To Six Different Functions, Including Banking, Construction, and Fire Fighting
Toyota offers specialized conversion kits for the Hilux in India through partnerships with a number of outside organizations.
One pickup truck that is well-known for its sturdy construction is the Toyota Hilux. The Hilux has exceptional off-road capabilities and is based on the Fortuner’s ladder-on-frame chassis. It is useful for a variety of uses due to its large cargo bed and overall size. Toyota has worked with a number of outside organizations to offer a variety of conversion choices that can alter the truck for specialized uses. Details about six of these operation-based Hilux adjustments are now available and are listed below.
Vehicle maintenance and disaster management
Rapid Hilux Intervention
At the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, Toyota recently unveiled the Rapid Intervention, a version of the Hilux designed for disaster management. It is designed specifically to give emergency relief where the big fire vehicles are unable to.
Toyota and New Age Fire Fighting Company Ltd. collaborated to provide this Hilux variant with modifications. The pickup’s cargo bed has undergone extensive modification to make room for the water pump, hoses, traffic cones, and other essential firefighting equipment. It also comes with a stretcher and ladder on top for use in an emergency. This Hilux variant costs more than Rs 70 lakh in total, making its total cost more than Rs 1 crore.
For Automobile Maintenanceb
This Hilux pickup has been altered to function as a mobile service provider. Customized to provide mobile and doorstep vehicle maintenance services, it was developed in collaboration with Oil Lube Systems Pvt Ltd. In addition to a roof rack to hold additional parts, the cargo space behind is built to hold all the tools needed for upkeep and repairs.
Mining and Building
Additionally, the Hilux can be altered for use on the surface as well as below. The front windscreen of the Toyota mining truck is protected by an exoskeleton support frame, which also adds to the cabin’s protection. This is an important factor to take into account because the vehicle is also used for moving defense personnel as well as for the transportation of products and services.
However, the FDV (Field Diagnosis Vehicle) version can also be used as a carrier for supplies and spares movements at remote construction sites. On-site machinery maintenance is another use for the Hilux FDV. The sample is equipped with a sizable toolbox, and the back cabin box may be opened to function as a shelf-filled shed.
Banking & Security
The Hilux can also be used for security tasks like recovery, patrolling, and assistance. Its cargo bay can be transformed into a windowed personnel transporting structure. The Chandigarh police recently added the Toyota Hilux to their inventory of vehicles.
It is also possible to convert the Hilux’s cargo bed into a sizable enclosed carrier for use in banking, such as cash vaulting, doorstep ATM services, and cash transfer.
What Gives The Hilux Its Power?
The 2.8-liter diesel engine, which generates 204 PS and up to 500 Nm, powers the Toyota Hilux. There is a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission available for this machine. The precise gearbox choices that have been made available for the various Hilux models described above are unknown to us.
Range of Prices
The costs associated with each of the Toyota Hilux’s customized models are unknown to us. The ordinary version of the pickup costs, ex-showroom in Delhi, between Rs 30.40 lakh and Rs 37.90 lakh. It serves as a high-end substitute for the Isuzu V-Cross and can even be considered an option in place of SUVs like the MG Gloster and Toyota Fortuner.

Since February 3 is the penultimate day of the three-day event, we thought it would be helpful to let you know which 10 vehicles are a must-see if you want to visit the location.
Tata Curvv
Tata has stated that a diesel powertrain will be available on the market-ready variant of the Curvv, as well as bringing the internal combustion engine version closer to production. The Tata Curvv’s coupe-like roofline, which draws styling influences from the Harrier and new Nexon, is its standout feature. Both variants will be released in 2024; an EV version with a few minor design tweaks will also be offered.
Mercedes-Benz EQG
The all-electric Mercedes-Benz G-Class, or EQG, is one of the most impressive concept cars on display at the Bharat Mobility Expo. It has the same general layout as the standard G-Wagon, but the front has some changes to indicate that it is an electric vehicle. Although the EQG’s electric drivetrain specifications are still under wraps, it is known that it will have four motors—one for each wheel. Anticipate its release in India around 2025, with a potential starting price of Rs 3.5 crore.
A Toyota Hilux For Firefighting

The automaker has displayed a unique model that has been specially designed for combating fires. It comes with ladders, medical supplies, pressurized water pump, and more. Mahindra Rall.e Concept
The BE.05 electric crossover, Mahindra’s first entirely new electric vehicle, has been unveiled as the more robust BE Rall.e concept. It is anticipated that Tata would introduce the Nexon CNG in the first half of 2024, with a starting price of Rs 9 lakh.
Flex-fuel Models
In relation to more environmentally friendly fuel choices, you should also look at the flex-fuel-equipped Maruti Wagon R and Toyota Innova Hycross. In 2025, flex fuel vehicles are expected to play a significant role in the Indian automotive sector as the government works to reduce the carbon emissions of internal combustion engines (ICE) while also reducing our reliance on foreign oil imports. These two prototypes can operate on gasoline that contains up to 85% ethanol. The Wagon R’s 1.2-liter powerplant features flex-fuel technology, but the Toyota MPV’s 2-liter strong-hybrid configuration does-10 Automobiles

Mercedes-Benz SL Roadster
One of the few sports cars available in India with a lengthy history is the Mercedes-AMG SL. After a 12-year absence, it has recently returned in the seventh generation edition. What’s under the hood of the AMG SL 55 is even more special: a 4-liter twin-turbo V8 petrol engine producing 476 PS and 700 Nm. You will need to pay around Rs 2.35 crore if you wish to get one for yourself-10 Automobiles

Compared to the sedan model, the Taycan’s rear end is more distinctly estate-like and accommodates more baggage. Although the Porsche EV is a great product in and of itself, this model with the #Drive2Extremes graphics is on display. These were a part of a unique campaign the automaker launched to demonstrate Taycan Cross Tourismo’s capabilities in extremely cold and hot weather (-30 and +30 degrees Celsius)-10 Automobiles
Lamborghini Revuelto

Producing Over One Lakh Mahindra Scorpio Ns
Mahindra spent a year and a half to construct a comparable number of units of the SUV, whereas the Scorpio N received one lakh bookings in just thirty minutes.
img
In 2022, Mahindra introduced the Scorpio N, the generational replacement for the wildly successful Scorpio. The Scorpio N was novel in every way, including its design, functionality, and platform. Alongside its predecessor, which is marketed as the Scorpio Classic, the Scorpio N is currently one of the best-selling Mahindra SUVs. 19 months after the first production-spec Scorpio N left the factory, Mahindra has now reached a new production milestone with the 1,00,000th vehicle leaving the Chakkan facility.
Journey Thus Far
Even before it was released, the Mahindra Scorpio N attracted a lot of attention thanks to multiple spy photos of the SUV that appeared online. Within the first half hour of opening the order books, Mahindra had over one lakh reservations for the SUV. Ever since, the Scorpio has been plagued by protracted wait times even as it strives to boost its output. Ultimately, Mahindra was able to build one lakh SUVs in 2024.
Mahindra hasn’t made any big changes to the Scorpio during this time, but the SUV has continued to make news for recalls, changed features, or received a higher crash test safety rating.
Mahindra recently changed the feature list for the mid-spec Scorpio N model, which also became more expensive following the 2023 price increase. These modifications will take effect for all Scorpio N orders placed after 2024.
Features & Safety
Along with adding more features, the Mahindra Scorpio N now has an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, dual-zone air conditioning, and wireless phone charging. In addition, a single-pane sunroof and a 6-way power driver’s seat are included.
Up to six airbags, electronic stability control, hill-assist control, and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) are among the safety features.
Powertrain Selections
Mahindra provides two engine options for the Scorpio N: a 2-liter turbo-petrol engine (203 PS/ up to 380 Nm) and a 2.2-liter diesel engine (generating 132 PS/ 300 Nm or 175 PS/ up to 400 Nm). Both come with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission option. Four-wheel-drive (4WD) drivetrains are an additional option for the more potent diesel engine versions.
Value and Competitors
The cost of the Mahindra Scorpio N ranges from Rs 14 lakh to Rs 24.54 lakh. It competes with the Hyundai Creta/Alcazar and Tata Harrier/Safari.
Beginning in July 2024, six airbags will be standard on all Citroen vehicles.
Six airbags were previously standard on just the Citroen C5 Aircross midsize SUV.
- In addition to six airbags, ISOFIX seat anchoring and a rear seatbelt reminder are standard equipment on Citroen vehicles.
- There are currently only two front airbag options available for the Citroen C3 hatchback, eC3 electric hatchback, and C3 Aircross compact SUV.
- This modification will take effect in July of 2024, or the second part of the year.
- In India, Citroen now sells the C3, eC3, C3 Aircross, and C5 Aircross as retail models.
Despite the absence of a six airbag requirement for all new automobiles in India, automakers have been aiming to gradually integrate this safety element throughout their range. Citroen is the most recent brand to announce this change to their inventory, yet the French automaker will not immediately offer six airbags. Rather, this safety update will be applied to the Citroen C3, Citroen eC3, and Citroen C3 Aircross starting in the second half of this year, or July 2024. At the moment, these three locally produced Citroen cars come with just two front airbags.
Additional Safety Elements
Apart from the six airbags on the side and curtain, ISOFIX seat anchoring and a rear seatbelt reminder will be standard equipment on Citroen vehicles.
Safety features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors are currently standard on the C3 and eC3. A parking camera is also included with the Citroen hatchbacks, and the C3 Aircross is equipped with a tyre pressure monitoring system and hill hold assistance.
A long list of safety features is already included in Citroen’s flagship SUV in India, the C5 Aircross, which includes six airbags, electronic stability program (ESP), tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), park assist, hill assist, rear parking camera, and blind-spot detection system.
Citroen Price Range
The price ranges of Citroen’s four models, which are now available for purchase in India, are listed below: C3, eC3, C3 Aircross, and C5 Aircross.
Model | Price Range |
Citroen C3 | Rs 6.16 lakh to Rs 8.96 lakh |
Citroen eC3 | Rs 11.61 lakh to Rs 13.35 lakh |
Citroen C3 Aircross | Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 13.85 lakh |
Citroen C5 Aircross | Rs 36.91 lakh to Rs 37.67 lakh |
The Future Goals of Citroen India
Citroen intends to launch the C3X, a crossover sedan that will share a platform with the C3 and C3 Aircross, in India in 2024. Similar to the C3 hatchback, an all-electric variant of the C3X will also be available. The India-spec C3X’s interior photo recently appeared online. Tata Altroz Racer on Display at Bharat Mobility Expo 2024: Five Significant Changes Described
After making its debut at Auto Expo 2023, the Altroz Racer vanished from view. However, it has subsequently reappeared with updated features and a revised appearance.
The Tata Altroz Racer made its debut at the Auto Expo 2023. In 2024, at the Bharat Mobility Expo, a revised and more aggressive iteration of the high-end hatchback has made its debut. Even though it’s still only a “concept,” we anticipate seeing the improved Altroz Racer go on sale in 2024. Let’s examine the modifications made to the 2024 Altroz Racer
New Paint Option And Grille
The Altroz Racer made its debut at Auto Expo 2023 in a bright red color, but the latest model, which was shown at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024, has a brand-new orange paint job. The two white stripes that extend from the hood to the top of the roof are still present.
The updated grille design of the Altroz Racer now features a mesh-like pattern that complements the sporty design changes. This is another modification to the vehicle. The pre-facelift Tiago and Tigor-like trapezoidal grille pieces were present in the previous version.
Wheels Made of Alloy
Tata has also fitted a more fashionable set of 16-inch 10-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels to the new Altroz Racer. Conversely, the earlier model featured blacked-out units that were identical to the ordinary Altroz in terms of design.
New Colour Upholstery And Gear Shifter
Tata has revised the orange hue of the ambient lighting and red inlays to match the new exterior color of the 2024 Altroz Racer. The orange tone has been added to its colored accents and contrast stitching on the upholstery and steering wheel. The new color is even applied to the ambient lighting in the dashboard, footwell sections, and wireless phone charging dock.
The center console of the new Altroz Racer has undergone a minor but notable modification. The shifter used on the basic Altroz has been replaced with a 5-speed gear shifter akin to that of the new Tata Nexon.
A 360-degree Camera
A 360-degree camera is one of the new features added to the Altroz Racer’s equipment list. The front camera is visible; it is situated directly behind the Tata logo. There was simply a reverse camera on the previous Altroz Racer. The Maruti Baleno is likewise equipped with this capability.
An HUD, or heads-up display
The 2024 Altroz Racer now includes a HUD as well, however it’s unclear how big the screen is. Nevertheless, compared to the previous version, it is a significant improvement in terms of convenience and safety and is probably going to transmit vital information such as the gear position indication, current speed, and fuel economy. We would have rather to see the larger 10.25-inch completely digital driver’s display from the new Nexon instead of the outdated 7-inch TFT in the semi-digital cluster, even though this is a premium feature.
The modified Tata Altroz Racer now has all of these modifications. It is powered by the same 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine (170 Nm/120 PS) and manual transmission as the Altroz Racer from earlier models. Which of these modifications would you most like to see implemented into the Altroz Racer when it launches? Tell us in the comments below.

Tata Curvv at Bharat Mobility Expo 2024, in a closer-to-production avatar
Tata’s new 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine will be available with a 1.5-liter diesel engine with 115 PS for the Curvv.
- At Auto Expo 2023, the first Tata Curvv internal combustion engine (ICE) concept was unveiled.
- The most recent model featured a back profile that was sharpened and resembled the Nexon.
- Confirmed: the inside will include a touch-based temperature control panel and a 4-spoke steering wheel resembling a Harrier with a backlit Tata logo.
- Six airbags, a panoramic sunroof, twin digital screens, and a 360-degree camera are anticipated features.
- By the end of 2024, Curvv ICE is anticipated to launch; costs may begin at Rs 10.50 lakh.
The production-ready SUV, the Tata Curvv, made its premiere at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2024 and is expected to be one of the most anticipated new automobile debuts of 2024. This is the next Tata SUV with an internal combustion engine (ICE), which will now reportedly also be available with a diesel engine.
Details of Curvv Diesel
The Curvv will receive Tata’s most recent 1.2-liter turbo-petrol TGDi engine (125 PS/225 Nm) during the Auto Expo 2023. Presently, the 1.5-liter diesel engine (115 PS/260 Nm) on the Curvv is confirmed to be available thanks to the model displayed at the Bharat Mobility expo. The Curvv ICE is anticipated to be offered with a choice of gasoline and diesel engines.
The Curvv will also be available as an all-electric model called the Curvv EV, which is probably going to come with several battery packs with a stated range of around 500 kilometers.
A Redesigned Layout
With a few little changes, the Tata Curvv ICE that was on display at the Bharat Mobility expo is essentially what we will receive when the SUV hits the showrooms. In contrast to the design we saw at the Auto Expo 2023, it receives a revised front end. The large chrome-studded bumper, LED DRLs, and the triangle headlamp and fog lamp arrangement are just a few of the features that make its fascia resemble the face of the Nexon.
The coupe roofline, which extends to the high-seated back end, is the Curvv’s most prominent design feature, and it is best seen in profile. The 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels of the Curvv ICE on display nevertheless provide plenty of space in the wheel arches, particularly at the back.
Its back hasn’t changed significantly from the previous idea, but the details are now more refined in this version that is suitable for production. The horizontal tail lamp, which runs the entire width of the SUV, is its most prominent stylistic feature. A split roof-integrated spoiler is also included.
Interior Design and Features
Tata gave us a sneak glance inside the cabin of the Curvv ICE, although not disclosing any information about it. It comes with two digital displays (one for infotainment and the other for instrumentation), and a redesigned 4-spoke steering wheel resembling a Harrier with an illuminated “Tata” logo in the center. It will also have a touch-panel climate control system from Tata.
The specification for manufacture In addition, a panoramic sunroof, paddle shifters, wireless phone charging, and ventilated front seats are anticipated for the Curvv. Six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and ISOFIX child seat mounts are probably part of its safety net.
Expected, Price Launch And Competition
The Tata Curvv EV was initially supposed to launch first, and the ICE version is anticipated to go on sale by the end of 2024. The former should start at around Rs 10.50 lakh, while the pricing of its EV variant can be as high as Rs 20 lakh. The Curvv EV will compete against the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric, while the Curvv ICE will go up against the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Honda Elevate.
