Toyota Innova Hycross surpasses the 50,000 sales milestone this year
The third-generation Toyota Innova Hycross, a well-liked MPV, made its debut in the Indian market towards the end of 2022. The Toyota Innova Hycross has now exceeded the 50,000-unit sales milestone in our market in just over a year.
Why It Matters to Reach This Milestone
The most recent milestone reached by the Toyota Innova Hycross is significant because it completely contradicts what earlier Innova iterations—which have been around since the MPV was first introduced in India in 2005—were supposed to stand for. Toyota altered the MPV’s composition for the third generation model, switching from a body-on-frame to a monocoque chassis, opting for front-wheel drive (FWD) instead of rear-wheel drive (RWD), and changing the vehicle’s primary powertrain from diesel to gasoline (with the addition of a strong-hybrid option for the first time).
It’s nevertheless admirable that the MPV has been well accepted by Indian buyers despite all these significant alterations. At least six months are currently being waited for in major cities. Its long list of advantages, which includes five years of free roadside support, decreased maintenance costs for Toyota vehicles, and an eight-year/1.6 lakh km warranty on the battery pack of the strong-hybrid system, are probably contributing factors to its enormous popularity.
India’s Innings Thus Far.
In late 2022, Toyota introduced the Innova Hycross to the Indian market. It was priced between Rs 18.30 lakh and Rs 18.30 lakh for both 7- and 8-seater models. The MPV had an average wait period of three to four months in the major cities within the first few months of operation.
It saw its first price increase in March 2023, increasing the price by up to Rs 75,000. The same month, Toyota ceased accepting orders for its highest-end ZX and ZX(O) models. In February 2024, reservations for these two variations are presently unavailable once more.
In July 2023, it also received a rebadged cousin, the Maruti Invicto, with a few changes, such as a revised design, a little altered equipment lineup, and only one hybrid powertrain choice.
A Brief Overview Of Its Features
The Innova Hycross is brimming with high-end features, and it has all those significant improvements over the previous Innovas. It comes equipped with a 7-inch digital driver’s display, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a 10-inch touchscreen system.
Included in its safety equipment are six airbags, a 360-degree camera, parking sensors in the front and rear, and a few advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) including autonomous emergency braking and adaptive cruise control.
Technical Details

Price range and Competitors
