Manufacturer Responds to Fire in Volvo C40 Recharge Electric Coupe SUV

While the vehicle was traveling on a highway in Chhattisgarh, an incident occurred. The passengers managed to get out of the car before it took fire, and no casualties have been reported, according to reports.

Volvo was also made aware of the occurrence, which prompted the manufacturer to release a formal statement. According to Volvo, there was an incident on Saturday where a C40 caught fire while being driven. The driver was alerted to pull over and exit the vehicle by the integrated safety systems. Volvo C40 Battery Pack & Range Recharge
The Volvo C40 Recharge, an electric SUV coupe based on the XC40 Recharge, made its debut in India in September 2023. The C40 Recharge likewise makes use of a 78 kWh battery pack with a 530 km stated WLTP range. The extra range is due to a different battery chemistry than the one found in the XC40 Recharge. An all-wheel-drive (AWD) dual-electric motor arrangement producing 408 PS and 660 Nm is coupled to the battery pack.
Features & Safety
Volvo has fitted the C40 Recharge with features such a 12-inch digital driver’s display, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that can be orientated vertically, electrically adjustable front seats that can be heated or cooled, dual-zone temperature control, and a panoramic sunroof.
Seven airbags, hill hold and descent control, and a 360-degree camera ensure the safety of the occupants. Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are also included with the C40 Recharge. These include adaptive cruise control, front-end collision avoidance and mitigation, lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot monitoring, and rear-and front-end cross-traffic alerts.
Price & Rivals
There is only one version of the Volvo C40 Recharge, and it costs Rs 62.95 lakh. It competes with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6, and it also looks more sporty than the Volvo XC40 Recharge.
