Although LED headlights and LED DRLs are standard equipment even on the base-spec Tata Punch EV, they are disconnected and do not have any motion. The Smart version of the electric micro SUV is a base-spec model, therefore it also lacks front fog lamps.
Another feature that sets the Punch EV Smart apart from its more expensive models is its smaller, 15-inch steel wheels covered with wheel caps. Additionally, the Punch EV Smart variant comes with blacked-out door handles and ORVMs that are coated in black. Higher-end Punch EV models come with body-colored door handles and gloss black ORVMs.
The lack of roof rails on this Tata Punch EV further suggests that it is an entry-level model.
The Tata Punch EV Smart is equipped without a rear wiper, washer, or defroster. The silver skid plate on the bumper and LED taillamps on the lower trim levels of the Tata Punch EV are the only differences in the exterior design.
Interior
The dual-tone dashboard and cloth seat upholstery are elements of the Tata Punch EV Smart version. This electric mini SUV model lacks an infotainment system, which seems like a major omission from Tata at this pricing range. It does, however, come equipped with a touch control panel, front power windows, a cooled glovebox, an air purifier, a semi-digital driver’s display, and automatic air conditioning.
In addition to having two drive modes (City and Sport), the Punch EV Smart has multi-mode regenerative braking. However, unlike the higher varieties, the drive selector lacks a digital display.
The Punch EV smart is devoid of rear power windows, rear AC vents, and a center headrest when it comes to the back seats.
The Punch EV Smart has a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill hold assist, electronic stability control (ESC), ABS with EBD, six airbags, and rear parking sensors for passenger protection.
But for an additional Rs 50,000, you can choose the Punch EV Smart Plus version, which has a 7-inch touchscreen, a six-speaker sound system, a day/night inside rearview mirror (IRVM), paddle shifters, and a rear parking camera.
Specifics of the Powertrain
The Punch EV Smart has a 315 km range and is equipped with a 25 kWh medium-range battery pack that is connected to an electric motor producing 82 PS and 114 Nm. A 3.3 kW AC rapid charge is one of the charging options; it can recharge a battery from 10% to 100% in 9.4 hours. Additionally, it enables 50 kW DC rapid charging, which charges a battery from 10 to 80 percent in 56 minutes.
With the Punch EV Smart model, Tata is not providing customers with the option of a 7.2 kW charger.
Price Range and Competitors
The pricing range for the Tata Punch EV is Rs 10.99 lakh to Rs 15.49 lakh. It is a premium substitute for the Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet EV, competing with the Citroen eC3.
