News & Top StoriesToyota has now announced a voluntary recall for 269 Land Cruiser 300 SUVs in India so that the software in the automatic transmission can be reprogrammed. These flagship SUVs from the automaker were produced over nearly two years, from February 12, 2021, to February 1, 2023.
Further Information Regarding the Recall
Positively, there haven’t been any cases connected to the impacted area recorded as of yet. Customers of the impacted vehicles will be contacted one-on-one by Toyota Land Cruiser dealerships to complete the necessary servicing campaign activity as part of the recall.
By going to the Toyota India website’s “Safety Recall” section and inputting their vehicle’s chassis number or vehicle identification number (VIN), owners may also determine whether their car is included in the recall. You can reach out to your local Toyota dealer or give its customer service center a call at 1800-309-0001.
Can You Keep Using It?
Although Toyota has not stated if the impacted SUV models are safe to drive as is, we advise you to find out as soon as possible if your car is covered by the recall. If so, schedule an inspection right away to maintain your car in top condition. A waiting period of up to two years is already in place, and the Land Cruiser’s last known price was Rs 2.10 crore (ex-showroom).
