Toyota News & Top Stories

Toyota Car: On April 3, 2024, Toyota’s take on the Maruti Fronx will finally have its world premiere. The news of its arrival dates back to late 2023. It represents Toyota’s return to the sub-4 meter SUV market in India, despite its crossover-like proportions. The moniker “Urban Cruiser Taisor,” a previously registered brand of Toyota, may be applied to this most recent Maruti-based Toyota vehicle.

External Style

Toyota plans to add distinctive stylistic aspects to set itself apart from the Maruti Suzuki Fronx while maintaining the basic body structure. A revised grille with Toyota badging, modified bumpers, unique headlights and daytime running lights (DRLs), and tail lamp designs are some of these changes. Recently, Maruti and Toyota have been able to preserve their unique visual identities while sharing SUVs.

The most recent teaser image released by Toyota for its new crossover confirms many of the alterations mentioned above. It will also be available in a fresh orange color that the Fronx does not have.

Interior Design

Expected Features

Toyota may alter the colors of the interior while keeping the Fronx-style dashboard arrangement. The Toyota version may choose to have a lighter beige interior design as opposed to the Maruti model’s black and burgundy interior.

Expected Features

It is anticipated that every feature found on the Fronx—such as the 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a heads-up display, automated climate control, and cruise control—will also be included on the Toyota Taisor. It is predicted that the vehicle will have a 360-degree camera, electronic stability program (ESP), ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, up to six airbags, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.

similar powertrains

The Toyota crossover and the Fronx are expected to share engines and transmissions, in line with prior Maruti-Toyota partnerships. AMT and a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine with a 5-speed manual are among the anticipated powertrain options. Furthermore, a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission may be paired with a 1-liter turbo-petrol (Boosterjet) engine that generates 100 PS and 148 Nm of torque. Although it’s possible, a CNG version won’t probably be offered at launch.

Estimated Prices and Competitors

Expected Price and Rivals

The expected price range for the Toyota Taisor (ex-showroom) is between Rs 8 lakh and Rs 13 lakh, based on the pricing of the Maruti Fronx. It is probably going to cost a little more than similar Fronx versions. In addition to the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, and the upcoming Mahindra XUV300 are competitors of the Toyota Taisor.
